Vent-O-Mat CATT Program
|
Sinotech CC developed air valve sizing and positioning software for Vent-O-Mat. The Vent-O-Mat CATT Program allows engineers to size and position air valves for
any pipeline material and/or diameter, and for both pumping and gravity mains. Pipeline profiles can be imported from spreadsheets and the results of studies can be exported to other programs.
Additional features are the economic assessment of effective pipeline de-aeration, automatically taking into account pumping costs and loss of flow due to insufficient de-aeration.

UPSurge
|
UPSurge is a computer program, written and compiled in Microsoft Visual Basic version VI. The
user friendly program is a valuable and time saving tool with which Engineers/Designers can design for surge in simple pipelines.

UPThrust
|
The Thrust Block Design Program (UPThrust) is an easy to use, user friendly program for the
design of thrust blocks. The program was written in Visual Basic version 6.0 by Prof SJ van Vuuren & Mr M van Dijk of SINOTECH cc.
The program requires the user to enter the internal pressures, flow rates, diameters, safety
factors, bearing capacities of the soil etc. The program will determine the resultant forces in the x- and y-directions as well as the total resultant force and its angle.

EPANET
|
EPANET performs extended period simulation of hydraulic and water quality behavior within pressurized pipe networks. A network consists of pipes, nodes (pipe junctions), pumps, valves and storage
tanks or reservoirs. EPANET tracks the flow of water in each pipe, the pressure at each node, the height of water in each tank, and the concentration of a chemical species throughout the network
during a simulation period comprised of multiple time steps. In addition to chemical species, water age and source tracing can also be simulated.
Running under Windows, EPANET provides
an integrated environment for editing network input data, running hydraulic and water quality simulations, and viewing the results in a variety of formats. These include color-coded network maps,
data tables, time series graphs, and contour plots. EPANET was developed by the Water Supply and Water Resources Division (formerly the Drinking Water Research Division) of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency's National Risk Management Research Laboratory.

EPA SWMM
|
The EPA Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) is a dynamic rainfall-runoff simulation model used
for single event or long-term (continuous) simulation of runoff quantity and quality from primarily urban areas. The runoff component of SWMM operates on a collection of subcatchment areas that
receive precipitation and generate runoff and pollutant loads. The routing portion of SWMM transports this runoff through a system of pipes, channels, storage/treatment devices, pumps, and
regulators. SWMM tracks the quantity and quality of runoff generated within each subcatchment, and the flow rate, flow depth, and quality of water in each pipe and channel during a simulation period
comprised of multiple time steps. This software is freeware.

HEC-RAS
|
HEC-RAS is public domain software i.e. freeware. HEC-RAS was developed by the
Hydrological Engineering Centre and allows the performing of one-dimensional steady flow and unsteady flow calculations as well as sediment transport calculations. The HEC-RAS User’s Manual,
Hydraulic Reference Manual and Application Guide are all included in the package.
